Abbey Gardens in Stratford are staging a heritage walk as part of their Harvest Festival Celebration on Saturday September 29.
The event lasts between noon and 4pm. The walk is due at 2pm and starts and finishes at Abbey Gardens, writes Colin Grainger.
Walk organiser Torange Khonsari said: “With huge evelopments and changes in Stratford and West Ham, the area is under threat of losing its historical heritage. The walk will map some existing historical buildings, discuss with residents their historical importance and come back to Abbey Gardens.”
Torange, a resident and an Abbey Gardens member, will then run a workshop on how communities can list buildings.

surrounding part of the ruins of a 12th century abbey.
There are free garden club sessions and new gardeners are always welcome. The garden is open to visitors from dawn till dusk. More details on the walk and the festival here:
